We take a look at a catchy little tune here, but from a slightly different perspective. I go through the process I use to learn a new song. This video sketches out the basic chords and an approach to the basic sound. Next video will add some tab and refine the right hand finger tehcniques.
Enjoy

When first starting to look around for the perfect acoustic blues guitar lessons, many people use the omnipresent 'G', and Google it, as they say. Increasingly more searches for everything imaginable are made on Youtube - due to the fact that it's the 2nd most used search service after Google itself. Like Google, the number of items returned for a term similar to 'acoustic blues guitar' is formidable - how to determine the tuition that's best for you, and how to learn blues guitar in the authentic way? Youtube guitar videos boast all manner of techniques and teaching levels, both paid and for free.
Blues guitar tabs are the basis of the most effective guitar lessons. Such tablature doesn't have to be that complex at all, with only simple notation indicating finger movements and blues chord progressions. Many blues guitar tabs go into too much complexity, trying to capture the overall style of authentic blues guitar techniques, which just isn't feasible! That fact points us to the next characteristic of good acoustic blues guitar courses - the teacher has to be able to perform the guitar really well (and any tabs needs to show exactly the notes he is demonstrating.)
Guitar tab in isolation isn't sufficient to teach that imperceptible hesitation, or the thumb strike that hits off-beat when required to complement the words. Certainly, the tab can indicate that one movement has to be be choked off with the heel of the picking hand, but can't indicate that action itself isn't continuous, but changes in intensity as the force of the palm in contact with the guitar strings is constantly being changed according to the flow of the song.
Take your time when searching for guitar lessons, whatever the style. The Chinese say 'a year or two engaged in doing nothing but finding the right teacher is very well used'. This is a good observation. You don't need to take so much time in your quest, but choose with care and ignore the hype. Don't expect to play that much better in a week or two, take it easy, don't push yourself too hard and above all, enjoy the ride and the music.
