Alternate Picking WARM UP! (Descending) - with TAB
Published on 13 February 2017
In this lesson, I go over a simple alternate picking exercise. this is strictly alternate picking: there is no sweep or economy picks, no hammers or pull offs.
The exercise uses the 3 note per string A minor scale in the 5th position, but you could play this exercise using any 3 note per string scale. A great thing to do would be to play this exercise through all 3 note per string patters on the fretboard. That way, you can learn the scales and work on your technique at the same time.
Make sure to start out playing this very slowly if you are not yet good at alternate picking. Slowly build up speed over time. Remember to play it perfectly before you try to play it fast!
