This backing track is based on a popular chord progression in rock, I V bVII IV, in this case we are in the key of G. Of the many approaches to play over this, I like David Gilmore's on Pink Floyd's "Fat Old Sun". He plays a major pentatonic scale for each chord, in the keys of G D F and C. You could also get away with G major pentatonic, but some of the notes will be a little strange sounding... Good luck!
