Chord theory doesn't have to be super confusing but in my experience, chords just didn't come easy to me. I mean, I could play them, but I didn't seem to understand what makes a major chord major, or a minor chord and what the heck is a diminished chord anyway?!?
All of these questions can be answered with a very simple approach to chord theory. For me, this means starting with major triads which are based on certain key intervals of the major scale.
In this lesson, we'll look at the three specific notes needed to make a major chord and I'll give you a cool little exercise that I use to help me solidify the concepts behind major triads.
