Jazz Guitar: Scale Patterns (some tips) - Jazz Guitar Lesson
A discussion on some "problems" encountered while learning and practicing patterns within scales. Also: suggestions and practical tips to apply patterns on the fretboard more easily.
The basic idea is that people *generally* get stuck in boxes (positions) when trying to apply Jazz guitar scales to "real" jazz improvisation, in the heat of the moment.
The solution is to NOT get stuck in positions when attempting to memorize scale patterns, motifs ... or even melodies to your favorite standards or bebop tunes.
In this video, I'll show you ways to enhance you speed, accuracy and improvisational skills by discovering new ways to play Jazz guitar. No gimmicks.
Enjoy!
