The Best Scales For Heavy Metal Soloing And Lead
Published on 11 February 2016
Here's a video lesson on the best scales to use for soloing over heavy metal chord progressions and riffs. They are: Minor Scale, Harmonic Minor Scale, Major Scale, Pentatonic Minor Scale, Blues Scale, Phrygian Mode, Minor 7th Arpeggio, Major 7th Arpeggio, and Derivitive modes.
I'm using a Heritage Les Paul, a Fender Blues Deluxe and a Ditto looper. For rhythm sound, I'm using a Digitech Hardwire TL-2 with an Okko Diablo Gain + going INTO it. For lead, I'm using a Digitiech TL-2 going INTO a Moog MF Drive, and then into a TC Electronic Nova Repeater.
