We'll also learn how to split the latin guitar rhythm patterns correctly into whole and half bars. The main pattern is 2 bars long, so splitting will be needed many times. Most people split the rhythm patterns at the wrong time. Real Brazilians always anticipate the next chord. So it's important to know how to do that correctly. All these rhythm patterns are being showed with a single chord first and then, when we split them, I use a turnaround with four differnt Latin guitar chords. See, we take all kind of different situations to apply the Bossa Nova rhythms. I'll also be showing you variations of the main Bossa Nova guitar rhythms and use them as breaks. I'll teach you how to combine different Latin rhythms and breaks. Again, the timing is the secret here. At the end of my Bossa Nova guitar lesson I'll teach you a Latin standard called "O Barquinho" or "My Little Boat". We'll apply all the Latin Jazz grooves and Bossa Nova guitar breaks we've learned. I made TABS of all the examples in this Bossa Nova guitar tutorial, which you can download from one of the above links. I made 8 backing tracks! Six of them for practicing the Bossa Nova guitar Rhythms on a single chord and the turnaround, and two for the example of "My Little Boat". So there is a lot to practice with and play along. It's the guitarist's job to do the comping in a Latin jazz tune (although pianist sometimes interfere, lol). So you want to make sure you can perform a great Bossa Nova guitar comping! As always, if you like this Bossa Nova guitar lesson, please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to my channels for more Latin Jazz guitar tutorial and share the love and knowledge! Hugs, Sandra
