Q: I'm a big fan of Ambient Guitar Music and I would like to understand something more on how to play in a simple two-finger plucking approach so I can make songs like this. I took some classical lessons, but I felt Classical guitar was very technical and I found it was too slow in progress, with a huge emphasis on music reading. I'm after more of a basic two-finger & thumb plucking thing that I can apply quickly. Lillian -- Birmingham, AL. USA A: The approach to simple "thumb and two-finger" guitar-picking allows for good clarity due to the limiting use of the right-hand fingers. Now, although Classical Guitar Technique is a full study of guitar finger-style virtues, it is a different sound from the way a more limited finger-style guitar approach would tend to offer us. In this lesson I will be organizing a selection of right-hand patterns that will be perfect for any level of player to use to begin developing their execution of a far more simple finger-picking approach perfect for the style of playing Ambient guitar music.
