Major Triad Inversions: http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson27">http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson27 Remember what a triad is? It's a three note chord and specifically a major triad is a three note chord consisting of the root, third and fifth scale degree. If you need to brush up on any of that have a look at Tuesday Blues Lesson 26: http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson26">http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson26 Once you have the basics down for major triads, the next thing we want to do is to start finding them all over the neck and then of course, put them to use! This lesson talks about major triad inversions which is just a musical term for taking those three major chord notes (root, third, fifth) and stacking them in a different order. For example, for the first inversion of the chord, we'll take the root note and make it the highest note in the chord (third, fifth, root). Check out the lesson to hear the different sounds you can come up with using these little inversions. By the way, this was one of those brief forays into music theory that really paid off for me. This helped me find little chords all over the neck and really opened up the fretboard for me. Hope you have the same luck!
