I don't really know if anyone else uses that term, but to me 'chord stabs' just means those quick little chord strums that work their way into a typical blues shuffle. This percussive little move is heard in Lightnin Hopkins blues tunes as well as many, many others. So whatever you want to call them, this little move can do a lot to spice up your blues rhythm playing.
