You may have been noodling around your scales up and down, but does it sound any good? Does it sound like a good jazz guitar solo? If the answer is no, this jazz guitar improvisation tutorial is for you! In this lesson I'll show you: How to target chord tones in a jazz solo. Creating tension and release with your jazz guitar lines. Jazz guitar licks and lines for Dorian mode, altered scale, diminished arpeggios and ionian scale. I'll show you detailed how to land on a chord tone and what "landing" means anyway. It's important for every kind of jazz guitar improvisation to land on chord tones. Equaly important is the way we create tension to build up the altered chord and to resolve it into the major chord. We'll use the accordin scales, but emphasize on the important notes and thus outline the underlying chord. This is what a good jazz guitar solo improvisation is all about. The jazz guitar licks in dorian, altered and ionian will help you to understand these concepts. At the end we'll glue everything together and have two entire lines of a 2 5 1 cjazz cadence. It has all the ingredients great jazz line guitar lines need. With my jazz guitar soloing techniques you'll be able to create your own exciting jazz lines and thus enjoy jazz guitar improvisation a lot more. Your listeners will like your new approach too! I've made a nice PDF with all the jazz guitar scales, arpeggios and lines showed in this jazz guitar soloing lesson, which you can download from the above link. I also made backing tracks, so you can utilize all the new jazz guitar concepts and jazz lines you've learned in this tutorial.
