Twelve Bar Blues Slide Lesson http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson56">http://www.bluesguitarinstitute.com/ lesson56 In this lesson, we'll take a close look at a finger picking blues lick in A. This one starts out with a very famous and usable lick with an A major flare then blends right in to some minor pentatonic work in a different position. This one will get you moving your hands around the neck and will introduce the concept of syncopation. As I mention in the video, syncopation is really just a fancy word for playing the melody and the bass off beat from each other. It's a really cool technique used quite a bit in acoustic finger picking blues (listen to some extreme syncopation by listening to guys like Blind Blake and Blind Boy Fuller). Hope you enjoy this lick. If you'd like to see how to play the second have of this lick, note-for-note, be sure to check out the lesson page to find out how you can gain access to the member's only bonus video.
