The song tells about the relationship between Bob and his "professor or slave-driving teacher" Muddy. When the young Bob joined the band all the instruction he got from Muddy was :"just watch me and learn" Bob sure learned as he's one of America's top bluesmen now. The song is in open G or Spanish and reflects Muddy's older material. I'm teaching this song in the following three lesson video's http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=lgMYmDVpEbg http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=KwWFO6l4dtQ http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=WzFAIQ4R5-s&feature=related The lyrics go like this (repeat first line twice) : I go to the old school, I study hard, I study long Got me a mean ol' professo, tries to teach me right from wrong slave drivin' teacher, just won't cut me (poor me) no slack I show him what I learned, then he tells me what I lack guitarsolo Brought an apple to my teacher he said bring me champagne he tells me everyday till I nearly go insane I thought the teacher liked m thought I was the teacher's pet then he tells me the more I teach you the dumber I get I go to the old school, I come in early I go out late I always will be a little schoolboy, I'll never graduate
